Seven Line Benza Guru Prayer and Mantra
The main body of calligraphy in the piece is an old form of long tailed Tibetan Drutsa script originating from the time of the Ming Dynasty of China and Tibet.
This Seven Line Prayer to Padmasambhava reads:
To the North-west land of Urgyen,
Born from a lotus flower,
Oh wondrous, the highest siddhi has been attained!
The renowned Padmasambhava,
Who is encircled with an entourage of Dakinis
Following your example,
Please manifest here and bestow your blessing
Guru padma siddhi huฬmฬฃเผ.
Finishing with the mantra omฬฃ aฬhฬฃ huฬmฬฃ vajra guru padma siddhi huฬmฬฃเผย depicted in both Ancient Lantsa Sanskrit and corresponding Tibetan Uchen scripts.
