EhWam Joyous

In 2005-6 I created a series on the happy and magical rainbow clouds commonly found in Tibetan and Chinese iconography, from Thangka painting to temple decoration and found woven into brocades and rugs.

The illusory etheric quality of rainbow clouds have always been a favourite of mine since childhood.

This early artwork illustrates typical smiling clouds, while in the foreground the clouds reach out in brightly colours fronds in celebration of gold leafed Eh-Vam monogram.

Acrylic on canvas + gold leaf. Dimensions 51 x 61 cm. Created 2006
