Illuminating dhīḥ – དྷཱིཿ

From the Sāgaramatiparipṛcchā Sūtra བློ་གྲོས་རྒྱ་མཚོས་ཞུས་པའི་མདོ།

– a short verse requested by Sāgaramati to Lord Buddha Shakyamuni –

རྣམ་ཤེས་ནི་མི་རྟག་པའོ།
ཡེ་ཤེས་ནི་རྟག་པའོ། །

‘Consciousness is impermanent.
Wisdom is permanent.’

This is accompanied by the seed syllable dhīḥ illuminated on a aura of gold, and as explained in the audio, belonging to the Bodhisattva Mañjuśrī – the embodiment of wisdom.

This small compilation piece was created to test how certain inks and gold leaf behaves on Bhutanese desho paper which first needed to be sized with egg-white, as the paper surface was found to be a little absorbent and fibrous for the inks – both brushed and scribed.
