Medicine Buddha Mantra Garland
Commissioned for a yet to be published book illustration on Ringu Tulku’s teaching on the practice of Medicine Buddha.
According to this mind treasure sādhanā, originally compiled from the sky-dharma and arranged by Karma Chagme, Rāga Asya – It is stated that “The hung syllable in the heart of the self and front visualisation is surrounded by a mantra garland of Medicine Buddha.”
The specifics of the artwork illustrates the string of mantra syllables tayatā oṃ bhe ṣa dzye bhe ṣa dzye ma hā bhe ṣa dzye rā dza samut ga te svā hā arranged facing outwards around the central hūṃ syllable. This implies the mantra turns clockwise, reading the mantra from tayatā with the first official mantra syllable oṃ directly below (or according to the visualisation) directly in front of the central hūṃ syllable.

Ultramarine mineral pigment on heavy water-colour paper, dimensions 57 x 65 cm. Created 2026.
