Karma – black and White
The larger illuminated Uchen letters translates as Karma. The smaller text in various sizes and script styles translate as cause and effect เฝฃเฝฆเผเฝขเพเพฑเฝดเผเฝ เฝเพฒเฝฆเผ
The idea of this piece is to explain the fact that Karma is manifest on many levels of our being, positive and negative – black karma and white karma. There exists the dimensions of both personal and collective Karma – Personal because of one’s own personal decision making and Collective as joint intentions and actions of a two people, a family, a town, a country and as humanity as a whole.
There is no predictive rule to say when good or bad Karma will ripen, only that all the right causes and conditions come together to manifest that result of oneโs own or collective past actions.
Multi layered Chinese and Japanese inks on heavy water-colour paper. Dimensions 57 x 76 cm. Created 2007
