    Tashi Mannox

Exploring Mantra in form and sound

A weekend workshop on sacred geometry of Tibetan seed syllables and mantra.

Dates: From 08 April to 09 April 2023

The Shang Shung UK Institute in London is happy to welcome back British born Tashi Mannox, who previously taught at the Shang Shung Institute, many times in London, Venice and Merigar West in Tuscany.

This calligraphy workshop is especially informative for fellow Tibetan Buddhists for clarity of their visualisation practices. By learning how to form the stage by stage proportionate construction of  sacred syllables, in beautiful harmonious calligraphy and in the sound quality of mantra, is a valuable aid for Mahayana and Vajrayana practitioners.

No prior Tibetan calligraphy skills are needed to attend this workshop, but for those already practiced in this scriptural art, my find the workshop elevating. A list of recommended materials and writing implements will be shared once enrolled.

The workshop concludes with a calligraphy demonstration in explanation of the essential meditational approach to creativity within the field of Dharma art.

Paper, ink and brushes will be provided.

A seminar is given by Tashi on the evening of Friday 7th

An exhibition of Tashi’s previously unseen artworks will be on display at the Shang Shung Institute during the workshop.

The cost for the weekend workshop is 250 GBP, there are concessions for 180 GBP for those with more limited financial abilities.
