Do Virtuous Deeds that Transcend
This classical combination of deep blue and rich gold is usually reserved for the upmost sacred of most world cultures.
Like the vastness of the sky, illuminated in a gentle emboss, is the larger word ‘ascend’ in gold leaf.
This is composed in a honorific stylised uchen script, usually used exclusively for heading pages of illuminated manuscripts.
The last character points upwards in honour of a looming silver letter ‘A’ emblazoned on a gold disk. This letter A is the essence letter of the Tibetan alphabet as well as the initial A of Allah.
The smaller calligraphy below translate as ‘Do virtuous deeds that transcend’.
At the honoured invitation of His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan Bin Muhammad Al Qasimi, This calligraphy artwork and four other pieces were especially created and submitted for the Sharjah Calligraphy Biennial Tenth Edition on ‘Elevation’.
