Wishing you all a Happy and Prosperous Losar – New Year of the Wood Dragon 2024.
According to Eastern astrology governed by the twelve Animals of the five elements in a 60 year cycle. The Wood Dragon is said to be the most beautiful of dragons. An exquisite beast that is admired by all. A great trendsetter and leader of fashion, it is aloof and sophisticated, cool and stylish.
Considered the most powerful of all mythological beast. The dragon is symbolic of the elemental forces of the changing seasons, and fashion the changing earthly forms of nature, through space, water, wind and fire, to protect or reveal precious substances.
This particular artwork was created especially as guest artist for Maharishi, who skilfully embroidered on the backs of tour jackets (as below) and sweats. The head of this dragon featuring on hats, bag and t’shirts. Currently celebrating Maharishi’s 1994 – 2024 anniversary.
The original artwork ‘Abundance Dragon’ can be seen along with others, on exhibition from the 9th February, at the Maharishi flagship store in Soho, London.
