Precious Jewel

As one of the Little Gem series of small and often illuminated artworks –

A Tibetan proverb painted with golden black ink:

When a jewel is yours – you don’t realise its value. When a jewel is another’s – you realise its value.

The verse is accompanied by a vermillion red flaming gold gilded jewel on Bhutanese hand-laid desho paper.

This particular piece exhibited at the Terton Gallery in Thimphu, Bhutan.
