On a corresponding chakra colour disk of Red – is the character āḥ representing the blessing of speech, with the small text below originating from Sanskrit, which is a supplication (to Padmasambhava) in order to beseech the siddhi* of the pure speech of mantra, affiliated with the chakra or gateway of the throat.
This is one of the three expressions of body speech and mind – head, throat and heart.
This being the second syllable of Padmasambhava’s eight-syllable Benza Guru mantra, in a series of eight individual art piece, each based on the individual syllables of His mantra:
oṃ āḥ hūṃ vajra guru padma siddhi hūṃ༔.
*siddhi – miraculous enlightened qualities.
Especially created for a solo exhibition with Amankora in Thimphu and Paro, Bhutan.
The theme for the exhibition is based on Bhutan’s patron Saint Padmasambhava. Both Bhutanese and Tibetans widely consider Padmasambhava, or known as Guru Rinpoche, to be the second Buddha.
