About the Artist
In 2002 Tashi was invited to contribute a calligraphy piece called ‘Regalia’ to the traveling exhibition of extraordinary hats by Philip Treacy.
This exhibition was launched at the Design museum in London, July 2002, subsequently touring the worlds prominent cities.
The exhibition returned to London in the spring of 2007, in respect to the untimely death of Isabella Blow.
A book was published to accompany the exhibition called

Isabella personally requested Tashi to illustrate the book with his calligraphy and motifs.
“Isabella Blow was one of the world’s most influential creative directors. She has worked for magazines including American Vogue, Visionaire, the Face and Italian Vogue. she played an important part in nurturing the careers of many designers, such as Alexander Mac Queen and Philip Treacy”
Tashi is currently compiling a new book called Insight Ink Contemporary Tibetan Calligraphy.
Most of the pieces that feature were expressely painted for this book. It’s content plots a journey through thoughts, values, ideals and calligraphy paintings to reflect on its four contemplations, four actions and four insights.
